    World of Tanks system requirements is a description of the approximate characteristics that a computer must meet in order for it to be able to run any particular software.

    These characteristics can describe the requirements for both hardware (processor type and frequency, amount of RAM, hard drive size) and software environment (operating system, availability of installed system components and services, etc.). Typically, such requirements are drawn up by the software manufacturer or author.

    In order for you to play World of Tanks, your computer must meet certain requirements. There are minimum and recommended system requirements.

    World of Tanks minimum system requirements

    The minimum system requirements for World of Tanks most often indicate the PC configuration on which the game can be run without problems with minimal graphics settings.

    The recommended World of Tanks system requirements show on which computer you can run the game at maximum graphics settings and still play without stuttering and with a high number of frames per second (FPS).

    For comfortable and productive work or play, you need a computer that meets the recommended requirements. Although there are cases that, despite meeting all the system requirements, the program does not work or works with “buggy” errors.

    System and technical requirements may change from time to time, and therefore this document may be modified and/or supplemented.

    I wish you good health, friends! If you are interested in how to choose a gaming computer for WoT or you want to upgrade your PC. Or maybe you are confused about buying a new one and don’t know where to start, then this article is for you! In it I will try to lay out in accessible language all the important nuances of choice. What you can save on and what you should spend more on. In this article I will not urge you to buy something specific, everyone decides for themselves. But I will try to explain the very essence of the choice. So... Please read...

    Computer for wot - about the most important things

    I’ll make a reservation right away that in this article I will consider PCs based on Intel processors as a standard. Let's go…

    Any good a computer starts with a powerful processor.
    No need to save money here! After all, it’s no secret that a comfortable game in WoT directly depends on it.
    Now I will briefly explain.

    Imagine a game...like Heroes III (yes, yes, respect to those who remember), there we load the processor with calculations of the actions of only AI (artificial intelligence). The miscalculation of our movement and everything else is all pennies and we don’t take it into account. Map, textures, mobs, castles, etc. located and loaded into RAM and video memory. And we played this wonderful game on the first Pentiums with 100 MHz processors and video cards, at best, with 16 MB of video memory (here I present everything figuratively and only for your understanding).

    Now let's return to World of Tanks. In an online game, the processor has to process 1000 times more information. From the moment you enter the game, the “percent” processes and sends absolutely everything to RAM and video memory (and don’t forget about the operating system itself, in which hundreds of operations also occur at the time of your game, also processed by the processor). You pressed the “Battle” button and are waiting for it to load, and at this time the CPU is trying to shovel textures, maps, equipment, load all your mods, and at the same time it is also receiving/transmitting packets via the Internet and exchanging information with the server of your favorite game. Feel the difference. That is why you need to take the processor as powerful as possible, based on your budget.

    CPU

    Now about the main thing. And the main thing in the processor is its performance per core. Let's find out...

    CPU clock speed- the bigger, the better. Pay attention to the number of cores and be guided by the money you have.

    Number of Cores— the WoT developers stated that the minimum requirements are 2 cores, but from experience I can say that you won’t get far with 2 cores, this is about 23 fps (we are talking about 2 stock cores without overclocking, with a frequency of ~2.3-2.5 GHz). And in dynamic pictures this value can drop to 15. So for a comfortable game you need 2 physical cores and 2 virtual ones at a minimum. The first processes all the video, and the second is responsible for processing the audio and everything else. Optimal for games in general (not just WoT), these are 4 physical cores. In price lists for CPUs they sometimes write 2 cores\4 threads. This means that the processor has only 2 physical cores, but there are also virtual (logical) cores. If you are assembling a computer for wot, then this is the best cheap option. And comparative tests, of which there are plenty on the Internet, will help you in this choice.
    I would I didn't recommend it take processors with 6 or more cores, because games require a maximum of 4 cores, and overpaying (not too bad) for unused cores is a dubious pleasure. The only exception is for those who, as part of their job or hobby, are engaged in video editing, but they themselves know about this.

    Number of processor caches- this is the parameter of which there can never be too much. We choose according to money. 6 MB of level 3 cache should be enough. And this parameter affects the speed of data exchange inside the processor. Roughly speaking, if a CPU without a cache will spend 1 ns on one multiplication procedure, then with a cache it will already be 0.5 ns. And this parameter affects the performance of the cores.

    Processor Summary

    So what do we have?! The higher the clock speed of the processor and the larger the cache memory, the more performance 1 core will give us. If there are also virtual cores, then it’s just super, specifically for World of Tanks. But the more physical cores, the less performance will be, because... and the cache memory will be divided between the cores and the clock frequency, as a rule, will be less by 1 core. Something like this…

    As numerous tests and the players themselves say, the best choice for games is Intel processors. And their Turbo Boost technology will increase clock frequencies at peak moments, i.e. the drop in fps will be less during the moments of exploding landmines and rendering beautiful graphics in general (don’t think about it, this is not advertising, these are reviews and tests). Accordingly, I can advise from budget: Core i3 2 physical and 2 virtual cores and it is very desirable to have Turbo Boost, cache as we remember, the more the better. Or Core i3 with 4 full physical cores with the same criteria as the previous one.

    The best an option for playing WoT (as the developers advise) would be Core i5 4 cores, with a cache of 6 MB or more. As they say, even with a reserve. But he will also require an order of magnitude more money.
    There is no point in choosing better processors (a waste of money) and so the computer for wot will be excellent!

    Motherboard

    In order to choose a good computer for wot, you need to get an appropriate motherboard. Many are puzzled by her choice. But in reality, everything is much simpler than it seems. Having chosen a processor, we already know what socket it is for (processor socket). Based on this, we select the “motherboard”.

    The main selection criteria for you should be:

    chipset— first of all, it often determines the price of motherboards. We don’t spare money here; we take a chipset of the “H” or “Z” series (for example, H110, Z270, the first is cheaper, the second is more expensive). The entire system performance will depend on the chipset.

    slots and frequency of supported RAM. For a budget option, 2 slots are suitable for DDR3 memory starting from 1600 MHz. For a more advanced and more expensive one, you need to take 2 (if money allows -4) slots and DDR4 memory with frequencies from 2400 MHz, or better from 2667 MHz. The higher, the better (but also more expensive, of course). The main thing in this choice is to know whether the processor you previously selected will support these frequencies.

    PCI-E 3.0 slot. It’s important to think about whether you plan to install a second video card; if not, then 1 slot will be enough. Also, boards for connecting fast SSD drives with an M.2 connector are installed in these connectors.

    connectors on the motherboard for ultra-fast SSD drives SATA Express or M.2 - this is of course not a mandatory option, and besides, it costs an indecent amount of money, as I wrote above, SSDs can also be connected via PCI-E 3.0. And about SATA 3.0, of which there are plenty in any motherboard, I’m generally silent.

    Well, in conclusion on this point...

    On motherboards it is often written “supported thermal dissipation from the processor” or TDP(thermal design power). If it is written that the motherboard supports processors with a TDP of up to 95 W, then this means that a processor with a higher heat dissipation cannot be installed (this is all conditional, since it can be installed, but subject to an upgrade of the radiator, CPU cooler and the entire internal airflow of the case) . But we are assembling a computer for wot, not a fan heater, and if the manufacturer specifies a TDP of up to 95 W, we will simply take him at his word and abide by this parameter. And besides, we are not famous “overclockers” who “overclock” literally everything on the computer (even the mouse ).

    Here I did not describe the power supply (we take the most powerful one you can afford), the SSD drive itself, the PC case and many other peripherals, because I think that a lot has already been written about this on the Internet. I described only the most significant...

    RAM

    As I wrote above, memory is suitable for a budget option DDR3 beginning with 1600 MHz and higher. For more expensive memory DDR4 and frequencies from 2400 MHz, or better from 2667 MHz and higher.
    How much should I take? If you have a computer for wot, then 4 GB of RAM will be enough. Even with 2 slots, you can later upgrade and install a second 4 GB memory stick and play a more demanding game (like The Witcher). If your wallet allows it, then take 8 GB with one stick at once, but I would advise adding money and buying dual-channel memory 2 x 4 GB and you are guaranteed an increase in performance.

    Well, the very last one IMPORTANT The criterion in the article "" is undoubtedly a video card. If you have mastered this entire text to the end, delved into all the important subtleties and nuances, then you understand that no less letters will be written about the video card. That is why I dedicated a separate article to this. Welcome - .

    And with this I say goodbye to you. Good luck configuring your new gaming PCs or upgrading your existing hardware. Because everyone can build a good computer for wot!

    Don’t forget to share in the comments what you play on and how many fps you have, this information will help a newbie navigate this issue more accurately!!

    We are assembling a computer for the game World of Tanks - we will consider the requirements for the computer, game settings, and select several configurations of computers with Intel and AMD processors, integrated and discrete video cards, taking into account different financial capabilities.

    Which computer to buy for the game World of Tanks.
    Before you start choosing system unit components, I suggest you read the official Wargaming recommendations, study what World of Tanks demands on a computer, which game components create the main load on PC components, and how the settings affect performance. To simplify perception, I will supplement the official WoT system requirements with real, more modern models of processors and video cards, with a performance rating. Which, in my opinion, will help you avoid confusion, possible overpayment and scams in computer stores. This is especially true for players aimed at budget solutions. Even if you want to buy a computer specifically for World of Tanks and save as much as possible, you must be aware of the fact that your interests are changeable and it is better to bet on a full-fledged gaming computer or with the possibility of simple upgrades - so as not to pay twice.

    By studying the list of system requirements for the game, you can get guidelines and a fairly clear idea of what kind of computer you need for World of Tanks 2018. In principle, you can start drawing up the configurations of modern computers, but for a complete understanding and understanding, I would also recommend that you read video material about the game settings inside, it will not be superfluous to understand what loads the processor, memory, and video card.

    Computer settings, World of Tanks graphics.

    Assembling a computer for the game World of Tanks.
    We have studied the requirements for the computer, familiarized ourselves with the graphics settings and their influence on the PC components, and proceed to choosing a configuration - compiling a list of necessary components. Let's start with the central processor, support the choice with examples of motherboards, focus on the important characteristics of RAM, and pay attention to video cards, hard drives, and power supplies. Buckle up - let's go!

    Minimum computer for World of Tanks:
    1. Processor – Intel Pentium G4600 3.6GHz = $69;
    2. Motherboard – ASUS H110M-K (H110 chip) = $56;
    3. Memory – 2400MHz 2x4GB Samsung M378A5244CB0-CRC = $85;
    4. Video card – integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 = $0;
    5. Hard disk – Western Digital WD10EZEX 1000GB = $46;
    6. Case PC – Aerocool Cs-1101 with 500W power supply = $53;
    The cost of PC components is ±310$.

    According to the system requirements, a budget computer for World of Tanks requires at least two lines of processors. Representatives of the previous generation Intel Pentium G4600, Pentium G4620 and an updated version of the Pentium G5500, Pentium G5600. Inexpensive, but quite productive 2-core processors, with support for Hyper-Threading technology (2 cores - 4 threads). The processors are equipped with an integrated HD Graphics 630 graphics card, which is capable of providing comfortable gameplay at Full HD resolution. Of course, we are talking about minimal graphics settings, but with fair and stable 30+ FPS, without lags. The purchase will be 100% justified if you have a very limited budget or want to wait for prices for discrete video cards to drop. In the future, a system unit with a Pentium processor can be equipped with a GeForce GTX 1050Ti class video card. .

    The 7th generation Pentium processors G4600/G4620 do not have any fundamental differences from the representatives of the 8th Pentium G5500/G5600. With the previous generation, the configuration will cost a little less, which is why I voiced this possibility. If for a certain time you rely only on an integrated video card, avoid purchasing the Pentium G5400 and Pentium G4560, their graphics are much weaker - HD Graphics 610.

    For Pentium G4600, G4620 processors, the optimal solution will be motherboards based on H110 chipsets - the minimum necessary equipment with a modest price (Socket 1151 - processor socket). Prices start at $45 - Biostar H110MHC, ASRock H110M-DGS, MSI H110M Pro-D. In this case, I’m just informing, not recommending. Pay attention to the Gigabyte GA-H110M-HD2 ($60), Asus H110M-K ($55), MSI H110M PRO-VH ($55) motherboards. If you intend to use an integrated video card, connect the video connectors on the motherboard with the monitor connectors, the possible options are D-Sub (VGA) analog, DVI and HDMI digital.

    Minimum gaming configuration No. 2:
    1.1. Processor – Pentium Gold G5500 3.8GHz = $95;
    1.2. Processor – Pentium Gold G5600 3.9GHz = $105;
    2.1. CPU cooler – DeepCool GAMMAXX 300 = $20;
    3.1. Motherboard – Biostar H310MHD PRO (H310) = $69;
    3.2. Motherboard – ASUS Prime H310M-K (H310 chip) = $73;
    3.3. Motherboard – MSI H310M Pro-VDH (H310 chip) = $75;
    3.4. Motherboard – Gigabyte H310M S2H (H310 chipset) = $75;
    3.5. Motherboard – ASUS Prime H310M-A (H310 chip) = $79;
    3.6. Motherboard – Gigabyte B360M H (B360 chipset) = $78;
    3.7. Motherboard – Biostar B360MHD PRO (B360 chipset) = $74;
    4.1. RAM – 2133MHz Patriot PSD48G2133K DDR4 2x4GB = $85;
    4.2. RAM – 2400MHz Geil EVO GSB48GB2400C16DC 2x4GB = $95;
    4.3. RAM – 2400MHz Corsair CMK8GX4M2A2400C14 2×4 = $105;
    4.4. RAM – 2400MHz Goodram IR-R2400D464L15S/8GDC = $100;
    4.5. RAM – 2400MHz Crucial Ballistix BLT2C4G4D26AFTA = $105;
    4.6. RAM – 2400MHz G.Skill F4-2400C15D-8GIS 2x4GB = $108;
    4.7. RAM – 2400MHz Kingston Fury HX424C15FBK2/8 = $110;
    5.1. Video card – integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 = $0;
    6.1. Hard drive – 1000GB Western Digital WD10EZEX = $46;
    6.2. Hard drive – Toshiba DT01ACA100 1000 GB = $45;
    7.1. Power supply – Corsair VS450 450W = $55;
    7.2. Power supply – DeepCool DA500 500W = $43;
    7.3. Power supply – Chieftec Force CPS-500S 500W = $45;
    7.4. Power supply – Chieftec BDF-500S Proton 500W = $55;
    7.5. Power supply – Aerocool KCAS-500 500W = $45;
    7.6. Power supply – SeaSonic ECO-430 430W = $57;
    8.1. Case – Aerocool Cs-1101 with 500W power supply = $51;
    8.2. Housing – Accord P-26B without power supply = $20;
    Intel computer cost ±346-415$.

    I hope the large number of components did not scare you - these are just possible options that simplify your search and selection. You “check” the prices in stores, cross out the excess, leaving one processor, one motherboard, etc.

    8th generation processors - Pentium G5500, Pentium G5600, Core i3-8100, Core i5-8500 require installation in a consonant Socket 1151 processor socket, only the version is already the 2nd and the system logic set is different. Requires motherboards with Intel H310, B360, H370, Q370, Z370 chipsets (). The most affordable motherboards with H310 logic are MSI H310M Pro-VDH ($75), ASUS Prime H310M-K ($73), ASUS Prime H310M-A ($79), Gigabyte H310M S2H ($75).

    RAM is DDR4 standard with a frequency of up to 2400MHz. For configurations with an integrated video adapter, 2400MHz modules are recommended. The frequency of RAM has an impact on the performance of the built-in. Pay attention to the timings, high-quality modules have CL 14-14-14 delays, good CL-15, CL-16, low-grade crap CL-19.

    Hard disk (HDD) - minimum optimal volume 1000GB, spindle rotation 7200 rpm, buffer from 64MB, number of plates/heads - 1/2. Regarding SSD, it does not belong to the computing components of a PC, like a processor or video card, and is not necessary for the operation of the computer. Yes, it speeds up the OS response, software launching, loading locations, reading/writing, but it does not have a significant impact on performance in games. The letters from the scribblers: “I installed an SSD in an old PC, a laptop - everything started flying” - have nothing to do with performance in games. Just as the game World of Tanks slowed down without an SSD, it will slow down with one. When assembling a budget computer, it is better to spend the money allocated for an SSD on a more powerful processor - Intel Core i3-8100, for example, or a video card. Taking into account the rate for long-term operation, this would be more correct; the drive can be purchased at any time. .

    Power Supply and Case - Millions of budget computers are built in cases with low quality power supplies pre-installed. Most of them work for years (the load on the power supply is minimal), there are, of course, sad cases - failure of PC components due to the fault of the power supply is not uncommon. The risk is always present and as the price decreases it increases sharply - you must be aware of this. I added an Aerocool Cs-1101 case with a pre-installed 500W Aerocool VX-500 unit to the assembly - purely as an example of not the worst. I also added a list of inexpensive and noteworthy power supplies. Relatively high power provides the possibility of upgrading systems - installing a discrete video card GeForce GTX 1060, for example. For systems that do not require an upgrade, a 300W power supply capable of delivering more than 200W via a 12V line is sufficient. .

    The Accord P-26B body is not a strong recommendation, but a simple example to learn the important characteristics. The size is determined by the form factor (size) of the motherboard you choose, the length of the video card and the height of the processor cooling system, in more detail -. It is desirable to have 2 120mm fans or seats. At the front, in the area where the hard drive is located, for blowing, at the back for blowing.

    Optimal computer for World of Tanks:
    1. Processor – Intel Core i3-8100 3.6GHz = $125;
    2. CPU Cooler – DeepCool GAMMAXX 300 = $20;
    3. Motherboard – MSI B360 Gaming Plus (B360 chip) = $115;
    4. Memory – 2400MHz 2x4GB Patriot PVE48G240C5KRD = $100;
    5. Video card – Palit GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 3GB = $270;
    6. SSD disk – Crucial MX500 250 GB = $90;
    7. Hard disk – Western Digital WD10EZEX 1000GB = $46;
    8. Power Supply – Chieftec BDF-500S Proton 500W = $55;
    9. Case PC – Zalman Z9 Plus = $65.
    The cost of components is ±888$.

    By and large, it makes no sense to reach for something more productive and expensive, exclusively for the game World of Tanks, in Full HD. If desired, the cost of the presented configuration can be significantly reduced - take a mat. board with the H310 chipset from the PC assembly above, abandon the SSD for a while, use a BOX cooler, buy a cheap case, the configuration will reduce the price by $180. On the other hand, the cost of a PC may increase - buying a 6GB version of the GeForce GTX 1060 video card - Palit NE51060015J9-1061D ($340) or similar from Gigabyte, MSI, Asus. These video cards not only have more memory, but also 1280 computing units versus 1152 for 3GB models. Let's add here the desired doubling of RAM 2x8GB, and the result will be +$150 to the cost.

    Best computer for World of Tanks:
    1.1. Processor – AMD Ryzen 3 2200G 3.5-3.7GHz = $110;
    1.2. Processor – AMD Ryzen 5 2400G 3.6-3.9GHz = $170;
    2.1. CPU Cooler – DeepCool GAMMAXX 300 = $20;
    3.1. Motherboard – ASRock AB350M (B350 chipset) = $65;
    3.2. Motherboard – MSI B350M PRO-VD Plus (B350) = $70;

    Everything, of course, is relative in the world, and when calling an assembly with an AMD Ryzen processor the best computer for WoT, you will have to make several clarifications. This applies especially to systems with an integrated video card and, to a greater extent, to the AMD Ryzen 3 2200G processor, taking into account the price and capabilities of the built-in Vega 8 video adapter. Compared to Intel analogues, the modern AMD integration is a completely different, high-quality level. The World of Tanks game is available not only in Full HD, but also with high quality graphics. Moreover, with the “correct” choice of screen resolution, you can not only watch slideshows in very demanding games that are inaccessible to the Intel built-in, but also actually play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Battlefield.

    The potential of Vega 8 (512 computational units) has not been fully revealed by the manufacturer; with a cool head and skillful hands, the performance of the video card can be raised to the level of the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G Vega 11 (704 units).

    Motherboards for AMD Ryzen 3 2200G, Ryzen 5 2400G processors are divided into two categories: based on AMD A320 chipsets - without overclocking capabilities and AMD B350 - with the ability to overclock the processor, integrated video card, and memory. The second option is a little more expensive, but also more effective; using the hidden potential of the Vega 8 integration will not be superfluous.

    Motherboards with AMD A320 currently start with price tags of $54 - Biostar A320MD PRO, Gigabyte GA-A320M-S2H, ASUS Prime A320M-K ($59), MSI A320M PRO-VD Plus ($63).

    Motherboards with AMD B350 logic start at $65 - ASRock AB350M price from $65, then you will find - MSI B350M PRO-VD Plus ($69), ASRock AB350M Pro4 ($79), MSI B350M Gaming Pro ($86) , Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 ($92).

    I specified boards with a radiator on VRM modules (power elements responsible for filtering, conversion, voltage stabilization). You can do without radiators by choosing Gigabyte GA-AB350M-HD3 ($90), ASUS Prime B350M-K ($75), for example. The boards are designed to work with 8-core Ryzen 7 processors, and there is certainly a margin of safety. How extreme will your experiments be - that is the question.

    Important! The performance of the processor and integrated video card directly depends on the frequency of the RAM. I recommend paying attention to DDR4 memory modules with a frequency of 2666MHz (this is at least), with timings CL 15-15-15, CL 16-16-16, at a voltage of 1.2V.

    High frequency performance can be achieved in two ways - buy one overclocked by the manufacturer, which is certainly more expensive, or buy one specified in the Samsung or Hynix assembly and overclock it yourself. For the most part, 3000MHz is easily taken, 3200MHz is lucky. And this is not surprising, because the brands you are familiar with use the same memory chips produced by Hynix and Samsung.

    The second recommendation is that it is mandatory to have two identical modules (2x4GB or 2x8GB) - this is required to activate the dual-channel operating mode. One high-speed memory module in single-channel mode promises a decrease in performance.

    The remaining components are as described above. Think, compare, weigh, listen less to the salesmen - they are supposed to sell things, not help the buyer. Thank you for your attention. Good luck!

    Best wishes
    Denker.

    Hello tankers! Since tanks appeared, I have often been asked, what kind of computer do I need for World of Tanks? And I decided to prepare a universal article with tips on buying a gaming computer in three categories, in fact, below you will learn about it.

    But if you decide to figure it out yourself, then let’s start analyzing several options, and you can choose the one that suits you.

    To play at your best

    The graphics, set to their fullest, are very pleasing with their beauty. The WoT developers tried and worked out everything down to the smallest detail, but not everyone saw all this beauty.

    If you have a desire to play without thinking about FPS, then I recommend choosing a computer based on these parameters:

    Now let's decipher it.

    • I recommend choosing a processor from the Intel family and taking the latest generation of the i5 or i7 line. Frequency - the higher the better
    • The video card should ideally have a chip from Nvidia and preferably no lower than GTX750ti, or better yet GTX950 and definitely 2Gb of memory
    • It is also better to take reliable RAM, for example from Corsair or OCZ, and it is advisable that these be sets of 2 or 4 modules. Typically they will work great together.

    I deliberately do not write down the specific names of the components, because every six months the situation changes, the main thing for you is to know where to aim when choosing, the store will help you do the rest.

    For playing on medium settings

    If you have a more modest budget, then you can avoid overpaying for expensive components and build an average gaming computer that can easily handle World of Tanks on average.

    • Again, I advise you to take the processor from the manufacturer Intel; a core i3 of the latest generation or something from the Pentium Gxxxx series will be enough (instead of 4 X's there is usually a digital model designation)
    • In this case, the video card must have at least 1Gb of DDR5 memory. The best option would be something like GTX660 or GTX750.
    • 4Gb of RAM will be enough, but I advise you to take a frequency of at least 1600Mhz

    But here the savings will be not only due to the listed three components, you can also install a cheaper mATX motherboard, a less powerful power supply, and in the end you will get an average but productive machine with an affordable price.

    For playing at low settings

    If you need a computer for WoT, but want to make small sacrifices, then the following option will serve as a great starting point.

    • Look for a processor among the Intel Pentium Gxxxx - they are inexpensive, but among them there are options close to the core i3
    • You can take a video card with 1G DDR3 memory, but be sure to make sure that the bus width is 128bit (if they push you with 64bit, send all the sellers to the woods)
    • I advise you not to skimp on RAM and take 4Gb with the same frequency of 1600Mhz, you will spend 1000 more, but the computer will work an order of magnitude faster

    I say this based on personal experience, having worked for more than 5 years in a computer store, I often met people who bought computer equipment and were ultimately disappointed that they could have saved significantly if they had sought advice from a specialist before purchasing.

    Do you have any questions? Ask in the comments. I'll try to answer them, or maybe even find the best build for you.

    With this I say goodbye to you, be careful when purchasing equipment and then it will delight you for many years.

    How to download and update the game?

    The main tool for installing and updating the game is. Detailed information about installing the game can be found.

    Tanks

    What is the current number of tanks in the game?

    Currently, the World of Tanks game features more than 500 combat vehicles from the USSR, Germany, USA, France, Great Britain, China, Japan, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Italy and Poland.

    What types of armored vehicles are presented in the game?

    The game features tanks and other armored units from the USSR, Germany, USA, France, Great Britain, China, Japan, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Italy and Poland, produced and designed from the 30s to the 50s of the XX century. Players have at their disposal light, medium and heavy tanks, as well as anti-tank (tank destroyer) and self-propelled artillery (self-propelled guns). In addition to production cars, the game also includes prototypes, such as the German VK.

    What role do tank destroyers and self-propelled guns play on the battlefield?

    As in real battles of World War II, in World of Tanks the role of these devices is difficult to overestimate. Anti-tank self-propelled guns are an ideal means of defense. Their powerful guns allow them to hit enemy units from long range, and their thick frontal armor guarantees a high level of frontal protection. On the other hand, their lack of mobility and weak rear and side armor make them vulnerable in close combat.

    Self-propelled guns have a slightly different role. They work in close cooperation with light tanks, which, using reconnaissance, “highlight” enemy units for self-propelled howitzers. The extremely powerful cannons of self-propelled guns, if hit well, can severely damage a tank and stun its crew. However, howitzers are also very vulnerable in close combat.

    What is the role of light tanks in the game?

    First of all, light tanks are excellent reconnaissance units, capable of quickly finding and neutralizing enemy artillery. Secondly, their mobility and large viewing radius make it possible to quickly find enemy equipment and transmit its coordinates to allied howitzers. Thirdly, they are most effective in close combat against enemy light tanks and, therefore, can defeat them on their own territory. The development of a line of light tanks, despite their meager armor and low-powered guns, makes sense. Moreover, upgrading a good light tank will take much less time than developing a medium or heavy tank.

    What is the role of medium tanks?

    Medium tanks are designed for maneuverable combat. Rapid flank breakthroughs and attacks from the rear, destruction of enemy artillery, hunting for single heavy tanks - these are just some of the tasks assigned to the ST in the game.

    What role do heavy tanks play on the battlefield?

    Heavy tanks are the main striking force of the team. They are equipped with powerful cannons and have strong armor. The fist of heavy tanks is the best means to crush the enemy’s defenses or hold back the onslaught of his forces.

    Gameplay

    How realistic is World of Tanks?

    The game maintains a balance between realism and convenient gameplay. World of Tanks is not a hardcore simulator: players will not have to waste time learning a complex control system. Instead, the difficulty of the game is based on the players' ability to use tactical thinking.

    How does the gaming technology correspond to historical prototypes?

    The vehicles presented in the game are as similar as possible to their historical prototypes in appearance and comparable in tactical and technical characteristics. This means that their speed, maneuverability, cross-country ability, turret traverse speed and rate of fire are the same as those of real tanks and self-propelled guns in testing conditions. In addition, elements such as the location of modules and crew members, the number of shells in the ammunition load, etc., correspond to historical prototypes.

    To what extent does the behavior of the equipment in the game correspond to the real one?

    The developers have made every effort to make the behavior of game models as reliable as possible. When shooting on the move, the probability of a hit is reduced, the terrain and soil affect the dynamics of the vehicle, and different types of projectiles have different flight speeds. After the introduction of new physics in update 0.8.0, it became possible to fall off a cliff or push an enemy, drown, and fast tanks skid when turning. A shell hit not only causes damage to the vehicle, but can also concuss a crew member, set the tank on fire, or damage one or another module.

    How long does one battle last on average?

    In modes « Standard fight » And « Meeting engagement » Each battle takes from 5 to 15 minutes. If, after 15 minutes, armored vehicles from each side remain on the battlefield and none of the bases are captured, a draw is declared.

    In mode « Storm » The battle takes up to 10 minutes. If, after 10 minutes, the attacking team has failed to break the resistance of the defenders or capture their base, the victory of the defending team is declared.

    Do newbies have the opportunity to practice before entering the “adult world”? Is the training mode available and can it be enabled offline?

    For beginners, in-game training and a “sandbox” mode are available, in which for the first 10 battles only level 1 vehicles are present, then the threshold increases: vehicles of levels 1-2. This will help new recruits get comfortable with the technology, control system and gameplay. Training modes are available online.

    What type is the main one in the game? How difficult is it to manage?

    The main view in the game is from a third person, with four modes of distance from the tank and the ability to freely move the camera around the vehicle. In addition, there is a first-person view, which includes the so-called. “sniper mode” for tanks, as well as “howitzer” mode for long-range artillery, in which the map is viewed from a bird’s eye view, also with the ability to zoom in/out of the camera from the ground surface. The game uses standard controls: WSAD keys plus mouse control. In addition, players can use cruise control to move both forward and backward. To do this, use the R and F keys, respectively.

    Does the game have auto-targeting?

    The game features auto-targeting, which allows you to shoot at a moving enemy. To enable auto-targeting, you need to aim at the enemy tank and press the right mouse button.

    Is there disguise in the game?

    There is camouflage. At the moment, there is a coefficient that determines how close you need to get to a hidden tank for it to become noticeable. Bushes and especially walls are the best way to hide from the enemy. A camouflaged tank can “give away” itself by starting to move or opening fire—its silhouette becomes visible. In addition, the game has introduced a special camouflage for tanks, which also adds a small percentage to stealth.

    Is there a division by nation in battle?

    Every time before the start of a battle, the game distributes combat vehicles among two teams, trying to maintain optimal balance and balance of forces. In this case, the nationality of the equipment is not taken into account: teams can be mixed.

    Are there machine guns in the game?

    Machine guns are present on tanks, but their use is not expected, since even the most powerful machine gun is not able to harm a well-armored tank.

    What types of projectiles are available in the game?

    Depending on the installed gun and the shells used on it, players can buy high-explosive fragmentation, cumulative, sub-caliber and armor-piercing shells for their vehicles.

    Will the "free camera" mode be available after the tank is destroyed?

    The game has a “tracking camera” mode, in which the player whose tank was shot down can monitor the allies remaining in the battle. To switch between allies after your tank is destroyed, press the right mouse button.

    Cards

    What is the typical size of a battle map and why were these particular sizes chosen?

    Currently, the average size of maps is 1 square kilometer for rural areas and slightly less for urban maps. Such sizes are optimal for providing interesting gameplay, since, on the one hand, players can stick together on the battlefield, and on the other, tanks need a relatively large space for normal maneuvering, ambushes and flanking maneuvers.

    The size of the map also depends on the number of elements placed on it, and a simple rule applies here: the fewer objects on the map, the larger the size it can be. Therefore, desert maps, for example, can reach 25 square kilometers in size.

    In addition to this, the game has larger maps for 30 vs 30 battles in the “General Battle” mode.

    Are there destructible elements on the maps?

    There are destructible objects on the maps. The plans include the destructibility of the maximum number of objects on the map, and this will have its pros and cons. For example, the player will be able to make a hole in the wall and use it as an embrasure to shoot at the enemy. On the other hand, seemingly reliable protection may turn out to be extremely vulnerable.

    Will players be able to play at different times of the year, time of day, and in different weather conditions?

    It is planned to introduce different seasons, but they will be visible on different maps. As for the time of day, there will be different levels of illumination and, accordingly, different levels of visibility. Battles boo They will take place both under a clear sky and in rain or fog, when the battle is actually by touch.

    The names of some maps coincide with the locations of legendary battles. Are they identical to the historical area?

    Making a game card identical to its prototype is very difficult, since when creating a card it is necessary to achieve optimal game balance, which in real life was out of the question. Nevertheless, the maps are visually similar to the originals, and photographs and drawings of real-life areas are actively used in their creation.

    Development

    What is a “leveling tree”?

    All World of Tanks vehicles belong to one of 11 nations: USSR, Germany, USA, France, Great Britain, China, Japan, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Italy and Poland. When playing as a tank of one of the nations, the player must go through a development path built in the form of a “tree” with several branches and development lines.

    How do you upgrade to tanks of the next level?

    Each tank has its own “Development” section. By participating in battles and earning experience and credits, the player can research more advanced elements of the tank (guns, chassis, radios, turrets, engines) and install them on the tank. As soon as the player has researched a module that is installed on a tank of the next level, this tank becomes available for research for experience and subsequent purchase for credits.

    If during leveling you decide that you have chosen the wrong development path, you can switch to another one by moving a few levels back to the intersection of the branches of the leveling tree.

    Do tanks have crews?

    Each car has its own crew. Each crew member occupies a specific place and has their own qualities that affect the corresponding characteristics of the tank. The number of crew members in the tank corresponds to the real historical one.

    Tankers develop their abilities relatively quickly. This means that while leveling up the tree, it will be possible to fully develop several crews specialized for specific tanks.

    Why do you need additional crew skills and abilities?

    After leveling up the crew to 100%, its development does not stop. The player becomes able to develop specific skills and abilities that will make tankers even more qualified and skilled. For example, developing the camouflage skill will make the tank less noticeable, and learning the Sniper skill by the gunner will increase the likelihood of critical damage to enemy modules and tankers. Skills can be both general, available to all crew members, and specific for each specialty. Some tanks have crew members who combine two specialties. In this case, they have access to skills for both specialties.

    Additional skills begin to take effect only after learning up to 100%, and skills affect the characteristics of the tanker from the very beginning of learning.

    Can you store more than one armored unit in your garage?

    By default, each player can keep up to 12 machines, regardless of the nationality of the equipment. For an additional fee, you can increase the number of slots for tanks in the hangar, thus expanding your personal fleet of armored vehicles.

    How does the financial system of World of Tanks work?

    The game contains credits, which the player earns by participating in battles, as well as in-game gold, which can be purchased for real money. Having gold will give the player the opportunity to purchase certain bonuses, but will not provide him with a decisive advantage in battles.

    "World War"

    Are there clans in the game?

    Yes, for a certain number of credits, any player can create their own clan. Each clan can consist of up to 100 people.

    What types of clan battles are there?

    The game features inter-clan tournaments. However, perhaps the most exciting part of the game for clans is the “World War” on the Global Map, where battles for territories take place.

    How are clan wars organized?

    In clan mode, the game is played on a Global Map, divided into many provinces similar to the historical lands that existed during the Second World War. When entering the Global Map, each clan will have to capture one of the coastal (starting) provinces. A free province will go to the clan without a fight, while territory occupied by another clan will have to be fought for.

    Will occupied territories supply clans with resources?

    Provinces are divided into several categories - from ordinary to key ("capitals"). Depending on the type, the captured province supplies the clan with a certain amount of resources (currently in-game gold). Key provinces bring in much more income.

    How are battles for provinces organized?

    Each clan has a certain number of “chips” (equal to the number of members in the clan). By placing chips on provinces on the Global Map, the clan indicates its claims to it. If at the same time another clan places its own chip or several on the selected province, or this province is already occupied by another clan, the two clans must fight in battle for it.

    Fortified areas

    What is a Fortified Area?

    “Fortified Areas” is a new game mode for clan players. It is available in the game client and is in no way connected with battles on the Global Map. The Stronghold refers to the property of the clan, which consists of a virtual military base, directions leading to it and additional buildings. A fortified area can be created free of charge by the clan commander at will.

    How many people must be in a clan to create a Stronghold?

    Currently, to create a Stronghold there are no restrictions on the number of players in the clan.

    What is a Fortified Area in the game?

    The fortified area is a virtual clan base in the game client. By developing their Fortified Area, the clan can build buildings to gain access to a variety of bonuses that can be activated for a certain time. For example, increased income based on the results of any battles or accelerated pumping of crews. It all depends on the development strategy of the Fortified Area. The current version of the mode is just the beginning of the work. Many innovations are planned for the near future. For example, upon reaching a certain level of a Fortified Area, players will be able to attack enemy Fortified Areas and defend their own. At the same time, unique opportunities will appear in battles, such as aerial reconnaissance, artillery shelling, the creation of minefields and much more.

    Why should you start playing in the “Fortified Areas” mode?

    First of all, for the sake of bonuses, which are conventionally called reserves. These bonuses apply to all clan members in all battles without exception, whether random or battles on the Global Map.

    Bonuses can be very diverse: to combat experience, to credits, to crew experience, and so on.

    "Fortified Areas" is a free mode that does not require spending in-game gold. It makes it possible to receive bonuses, almost similar to those provided by a premium account, without investing real money..

    How "Fortified areas" are different from the Global Map?

    The number of provinces on the Global Map is limited. Moreover, any clan can create its own Fortified Area and receive bonuses from it.

    When playing on the Global Map, you must adhere to the battle schedule. You can go into battle for industrial resources in the “Fortified Areas” mode at any time when the team has assembled.

    To land on the Global Map, you need to successfully complete the landing tournament. A weak clan cannot always do this or not the first time. In battles of the “Fortified Areas” mode, no matter the outcome of the battle, you will receive an industrial resource and will be able to use it to develop the Fortified Area or prepare reserves.

    Will I be able to play in Fortified Areas mode if I'm already playing on the Global Map?

    If you play on the Global Map, nothing prevents you from fighting for industrial resources in the “Fortified Areas” mode during the break between battles for provinces.

    A lot of time passes between battles on the Global Map. Spend this time fighting for industrial resources! This will allow you not only to increase the number of battles, but also to receive more bonuses.

    Not all clan fighters can participate in battles on the Global Map. Those who are not participating in provincial battles today can go on forays and earn bonuses for the entire clan.

    Fortified area is"Farm Frenzy"?

    No, unlike browser games, industrial resources for the development of the Fortified Area can only be earned in battles. And the effect of all bonuses from the Fortified Area is associated only with battles. Industrial resources cannot be exchanged for any property. It is spent only on the construction of buildings and the preparation of reserves (bonuses).
